add 1/2 & 3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Change 1/2 to 2/4 Then, 2/4+3/4=5/4 This gives us 1 and 1/4

Make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We all know that 1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8 and so on and so forth. 2/4 + 3/ 4 is equal to the fraction 5/4 or the mixed fraction 1 1/4.

Is that easier to understand? :)
