Which sentence contains a misplaced modifier? @Kaysee909 A. What a delightful after-dinner show you have given us! B. To our surprise, she began a little dance in front of us. C. We smiled our approval and nodded to each other. D. With a hop and a skip, the door opened, and a little girl came in.
D
well B and D are both wrong
how do you know?
so that only leaves C and A
i say D
it is A
can someone explain how they know?
B C and D are all correctly constructed sentences
for A, it's suppose to be: What a delightful after dinner show you have given us!
I say D bc its not clear, its like saying the door hopped and skipped, we don't know who skipped or hopped
It is A that is incorrect because after-dinner as you wrote it is incorrectly done.....it doesn't need a hyphen because such word is not considered a hyphenated word.....B and C are correct.....and D is just a little off worded but yea i would say A
i had this question before so yeh
yeah i was reading it to fast. A is structured wrong but D makes no sense.
so they are right, its D
thank you all for helping :)
A is still wrong though
OK SO A MISPLACED MODIFIER IS A WORD, PHRASE, OR CLAUSE THAT is seperated from what its supposed to describe cause we dont no who skipped and hopped!!
im checking my unit answers to see if i had the questoin correct @sierraleone17
okay :)
yeah its D, i passed it with a 90% the question i got wrong wasn't this q, and i passed it on the first try too
i had this question on there, i got it right
thank you kaysee i was going with yours anyway
your welcome girlie ;p
