Maggie bought 2 boxes of cupcakes for her daughters. She ate one cupcake herself and told her 3 daughters to share the remaining cupcakes equally. If there were c cupcakes in each box, what is the expression for the number of cupcakes each daughter gets?

Each box has c cupcakes. There are 2 boxes so total cupcakes = 2*c. Maggie eats one so there are 2*c-1 cupcakes left. These are split in three.
these are the choices: A. 2(c-1) 3 B. 2(c+1) 3 C. 2c-1 3 D. 2c 3 -1 E. 2c 3 +1
