Can you explain how to do this problem? http://prntscr.com/3ks62l
Write the formula in terms of y = mx + b. m would be the slope, and b would be the y intercept. Note that y shouldn't have any coefficients.
2 would be the M, correct? if so, would B be the 5?
2x - 5y = 20 -5y = 20 - 2x y = -(20-2x)/5 y = (-20+2x)/5 y = -4 + (2/5)x In this case, m would be 2/5 and b would be -4.
So now, you know the answer has to be either C or D.
Because the slope is positive, the graph should be pointing upwards. This means that the answer should be C.
Hope this guides you through future problems.
It will once I fully understand it, but will you explain how the 5 turned negative when it switched places with the 20?
I divided by -5 on both sides. Remember, we need y to be by itself. After dividing it by a negative number I took the negative sign to the numerators.
-5/2 = 5/-2
geez, math can be really confusing, but thanks, i think understand it now.
My pleasure. All the best mate.
