How are choanoflagellates similar to choanocytes?

They are structurally similar, but choanoflagellates are a group of single cell or colonial Eukaryotes, and choanocytes are cells in a multicellular organism. They are highly similar visually and even in some of the super structures that require electron microscopes to see.
