What is the area of LMNO?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An equation/explanation would be nice as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a parallelogram so do you know the formula for the area of a parallelogram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Area = Base x Height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you explain it a bit more I'm still not getting a answer that's listed

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

\(3^{2} + Height^{2} = 5^{2}\) Yea!!! Pythagorean Theorem!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So in picture for what we need to use it this|dw:1400551366928:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, ok I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Using the pythagorean theorem you can solve for the height and knowing that the base of the parallelogram is equal to the top we can use the top as the base which is the value 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I'm going to try to solve for the height and see what i get
