14. Kendall asked 40 randomly-selected seniors at his high school about their plans for after they graduated. Twenty-nine students said they planned to go to college. If there are 380 seniors at Kendall’s high school, estimate the number of students who plan to go to college. HINT: Write and solve a proportion comparing the sample to the actual. For example, the sample was that 29 out of 30 students surveyed said they planned to go to college. The actual number of students in the class is 380. So, solve the proportion to find the missing value which is the estimate of how many students out of the 380 plan to go to college. • 275 • 310 • 330

11. Jamal found the mean hourly wage of employees at his company using the data in the table. In a report he stated, “The typical salary at the company is about $23.00 per hour.” How is this misleading? $6.50 $6.50 $6.50 $6.50 $6.50 $6.50 $6.50 $7.50 $7.50 $7.50 $7.50 $7.50 $7.50 $7.50 $7.50 $60.00 $65.00 $75.00 $75.00 $75.00 (1 point) HINT: Think about all of the salaries shown and then think about Jamal’s statement. • The mean is not a good measure of the salaries because five employees have salaries far above the other 15 employees’ salaries. • Jamal should always use the highest wage. • His statement is not misleading.

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

and an additional note: you all shouldnt label yourselves as "emo". It makes people think less of you and i dont like being classified under a group such as that .-. for "emo" isnt a type of person, its a type of music. for real though think higher of yourselves than that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Definition of emo (adj) Bing Dictionary e·mo[ i mṓ ] over-excitable: given to excessive displays of emotion emotional punk rock: a genre of punk rock music that began in the mid-1980s in Washington, D.C. and is noted for its thoughtful and emotional lyrics

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

''emo'' emotional singer :P I bet anyone litsen to some somekind of music. If not you gee what kind of wise old Chinese lady are you? :) xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me make it clear in our teenagers world ''emo'' has upper hands that old china ladies :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no reply? thought so xD

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

I didn't reply because I wasn't on yesterday, and those first two statements you made are not even proper English. I get that the abbreviation "emo" stands for emotional but what I do not understand is your use of it in your username considering the fact that I found that picture on google thus proving the fact that you probably aren't even "emo". I also do not understand your need to use it in your messages, for if anything you should use the word emotional instead of abbreviating it. So what are you even trying to say? "I bet anyone litsen to some some kind of music" What the hell are you saying? XD Are you trying to say 'I bet that anyone who listens to that kind of music.' Because even my rewritten sentence is not proper English but it is the best I can make you of your gibberish language and if that is indeed what you were trying to write then i hope you realize that you know absolutely nothing about sentence structure because what you wrote isn't even a fragment of a proper sentence. Oh and by the way, there a cute little feature on here called spell check. It's were this website will tell you when you've spelt something wrong by underlining it in red, but i guess you didn't know that considering you spelt the word listen wrong. You spelt it 'litsen'..... Maybe you should be under the English subject in order to learn how to wright as well as spell before you should try your hand at math or even insulting people for that matter because you don't seem to be much good at either. Now have a nice day ^.^
