Which statement is true of a concave lens? A) It produces only virtual images B) It produces only enlarged images C) It produces a real image only when the object is between the focal point and the lens. D) It produces a virtual image only when an object is between the focal point and the lens.

it said that it was A. Because the concave lens is virtual and a convex lens is real. that's just what this is saying.

Youare right. A diverging (concave) lens always produces a virtual image. A converging (convex) lens can produce either a virtual or a real image, depending on where the object is placed in relation to the lens. If the object is placed between f and the lens the image will be virtual. At f, the image will be at infinity. Beyond f the image will always be be real.

those two choices were the ones I was confused by cause I knew it was a virtual image but confused about the focal point part. tried to trick me lol.
