It can't be 172. It's an acute angle.
I think it's 45. One of the angles is 90 (as the square proves) and the other is 45 (from the triangle). 90 + 45 = 135, and 180 - 135 = 45.
Actually, I did that math wrong. It's not 45; it's 60. So the answer is 30 degrees.
