It's always good to draw a picture out. Then label it with an arbitrary line between the point (1,1) and tanx so that we can start to figure it out. Once you get into it you'll see it's really not that bad. I'll help you along, the hardest part is just getting started.

I got stuck at \[0 = \sec^2(x)\] What I did was to use the Distance Formula, take the derivative of the result from the Distance Formula and equate that to zero to solve for the value of x.
