Sara is reviewing recent orders at her deli to determine which meats she should order. She found that of 1,000 orders, 390 customers ordered turkey, 345 customers ordered ham, and 300 customers ordered neither turkey nor ham. Based on these data, how many of the next 1,000 customers will order both turkey and ham? Show your work and use complete sentences.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so can you tell me what you understand? We will work from there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that I need to use the union rule to solve for Turkey and Ham, And I know all the values for the formula, TO solve for Turkey and Ham. Except, that the question mentions neither Turkey nor Ham, instead of turkey and ham, which baffles me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@formerlyadinosaur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's because you have to find the missing value and put everything together with the rule. Can you begin to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YEs but the formula is only set up to solve for and when you have A, B, and AorB... But in my case the question gives me A,B,and A NOR B. and i dont know how to set that up

@formerlyadinosaur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You were absolutely no help
