write an equation, circle: center (-1,1); contains (2,-4)

OpenStudy (blank ):

Here are two equations. They give the same result but I don't know which one you'll need. (x+1)^2+(y-1)^2=34 or x^2+2x+y^2-2y-32=0 Hope this helps. Tell me if you need the steps :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you ! and yes i just need to know what does the "contains (2, -4 ) means . Like how would you find that

OpenStudy (blank ):

It is the edge of the circle. The circle has to pass through (2, -4). If you calculate the distance between the center and the edge point, you'll get the radius.

ǝɯoɔlǝʍ ǝɹ,noʎ :)

wait but how do you find the radius ?
