6. Which rule matches the function graphed below? (1 point) A.y = –2x B.y = x + 4 C.y = 2x D.y = x – 4 (WILL GIVE MEDAL @tester97 @Johnbc

the x axis is our focus so we see which number falls on a whole integer and use that as x to solve for y and which ever matches up for all of those point given will be our function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so what is the X Axis

When x = 0 we see that y = 0 When x = - 2 we see that y =+4 When x = -4 we see that y = +8 So if we use any of those X values we must then also have that y value come out of our function for it to be the equation of the graph

First you find the slope of the line first and that tells you "x" and then you find where the line intersects the Y axis and that will tell you the "b" To find slope: \[\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 }\] Now we can pick two points on the graph so i will chose (-4,8) and (-2,4) Now lets plug that in.\[\frac{ 8-4 }{ -4-(-2) }\rightarrow \frac{ 4 }{ -4+2 }\rightarrow \frac{ 4 }{ -2 }\rightarrow -\frac{ 2 }{ 1 }\rightarrow-2\] So -2 is your slope here and since the line does not intersect the Y-Axis there is no "b" Then your answer will be A. y=-2x
