1) IT HAS SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS
2) It is generally used against salmonella typhi and e coli is nowadays resistant against it

Chloramphenicol is a wide spectrum antibiotic.....in books u will find it effective against e coli too..........but nowadays its far away frm reality @deepika.comet
