seeing as this is a side angle side triangle and we have a 90 degree triangle there could be many ways to solve it but the most convenient in this case is the  formula $$a^2 + b^2 = c^2$$

$$\log x ^{\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }}= \frac{ 1 }{ 2}\log x$$
So you can get sqrt x from the log 

I don't think there is an analytical way. This method involves tables/calculator - so you might as well use a calculator to get the root in the first place

I used prt scrn, and pasted it to paint. Then, I just selected the part of the picture I wanted, and hit crop.
