PLEASE HELP!!!! URGENT!!!

OpenStudy (roberts.spurs19):

\[\log_{3} (-2)\]

OpenStudy (roberts.spurs19):

Why is this not possible please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because of the negative invalid input

OpenStudy (roberts.spurs19):

why can't you have a negative input though please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is not more of having the negative number, it is more of that what numbers can you raise 3 to get -2, that is not accurate. for example \(log_{-2} -8\) could be valid because, you could raise -2 to 3, and get -8.

OpenStudy (roberts.spurs19):

oh ok! That makes sense! It is only in certain cases that a negative input doesn't work! Thank you!
