Factor out the greatest common monomial: 14y4 - 15y3 + 8y2 -2y A. 2(7y4 - 8y3 + 4y2 - y) B. y(14y3 - 15y2 + 8y - 2) C. 2y(7y3 - 8y2 + 4y - 1) D. y4(14 - 15y-1 + 8y-2 - 2y-3)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

14y^4 - 15y^3 + 8y^2 - 2y you have to find what all these terms have in common....can each term be divided by 2 ? No. So you cannot factor 2 out....that eliminates answer choices A and C. You cannot factor out y^4 either, so that cancels out D, leaving you with B. if you factor out y, you will end up with : y (14y^3 - 15y^2 + 8y - 2)
