Sure, no problem! Settlement houses were first inspired by Dr. Stanton Coit and Charles B. Stover, which lead them to found the first American settlement house, the Neighborhood Guild of New York City. This settlement house was created in the late 1800's. Other settlements quickly followed: Hull-House, Chicago, which was created shortly after the first. Jane Addams and Ellen Gates Starr were the ones that established it. New settlements were established almost every year. Although there are many of others, those were just the first two made. I hope that I helped you! :)

So Dr, Stanton Coit and Charles B. Stover were social reformers ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was actually inspired by Canon Barnett. Dr. Stanton Coit and Charles B. Stover were the two that founded the first American settlement house based off of Barnett's idea.
