Begin by isolating the 3/4x. Add 4 to both sides. This gives you 3/4 x = 13. Now rid yourself of the denominator by multiplying both sides by 4. You now have 3x = 52. Solve for x by dividing by 3. It doesn't come out evenly. But there you have it.
