Which statement about the African slave trade is accurate? A. European ships transported millions of African slaves to the Middle East. B. The invention of the cotton gin increased the demand for slaves in North America. C. Muslim merchants along Africa's east coast refused to participate in the shipment of slaves. D. African societies had no history of slavery until Muslim and European traders arrived.

I learned about the African Slave Trade previously this year. It was only a chapter in a text book, though. So I dont think we went deep in to the event. Let's see what I think about the options, though... -I don't think it is A because I remember them transferring slaves to the Caribbean and to the US...not to the Middle East... -B might be true...but it might not since the cotton gin also made things easier. -C doesn't seem to be true. I think I remember my teacher telling me that it was rare for Muslims to be abolitionists. -D...I don't know. So using the elimination method, we could take out A and probably C. Going with my gut, I think it would be B.
