since you have whole number answers, you can also factor

Okay...first you have 3 things but try to make it into 4...

x^2-x-6=0

x^2-3x+2x-6

x(x-3)+2(x-3)

(x+2)(x-3)

(-2,0) and (3,0) are your solutions.
