When you are confused in math the first thing is to try and understand what the question is asking for :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I think N is 3

Are you working with patterns?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah
OpenStudy (skullpatrol):
They want the values of m and n that will be in agreement with the others, right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep
OpenStudy (skullpatrol):
Try to think in terms of $$\Huge y=f(x)$$

Your job is to figure out the function f
OpenStudy (anonymous):
First find out the relation between x and y, find out that particular pattern between the two pairs of values...and thats it!!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I only need M ive been here for 3 hours now
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What did you get for N?
OpenStudy (skullpatrol):
y = 2x + 1

The pattern goes N, 4, 6, 10, 12. What is 6-4 and 10-6 and 12-10?
The pattern may go +2, +4, +2 if you are starting at 4. So to go backwards you would guess that a +4 comes before +2.
4-4 = N
N= 0
Try to do that some thing for M.
