when the line is reaching the point 4 from the left closest to 0

so doesnt it pass thru 0

it does. i can tell the vertical asymptote is 4 . so if i sub x for -4 would the limit be -1?

-4/-4-4 = -4/-8 = 4/8=1/2= 0.5
