@ganeshie8 ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

we're given height : \(y = 15\tan(\theta)\)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

for part a, simply plugin \(\theta = 30\) and evaluate (use ur calculator)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so solve this? y=15tan(30) ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yes, just evaluate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be y=5√3

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Correct ! http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=15*tan%2830%29

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hope u knw what needs to be done for partb :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do we do the same thing except with y=15tan(40) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would part b just be 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 can you help me with part c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the area, we want to break the triangle into two right triangles. that way we can use the area equation of 1/2*base*height so lets start with either 30 or 40 degrees, which do you want to do first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets do 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now here we've broken them up into two, now what is the length of the bottom side of each triangle? |dw:1400788705647:dw|
