Barry had a rectangular farm with dimensions x feet and 20 feet. He put a fence along 30 feet of the boundary of the farm. An expression is shown below: (2x + 40) - 30 Part A: What does the expression represent? Part B: What does 2x + 40 represent? Part C: What does 2x represent?

hang on im trying to figure it out..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry no i don't get the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A rectangle with dimensions x by 20 has a perimeter or boundary of 2x + 40 that is the answer to part B. Out of the perimeter of 2x + 40 feet, 30 feet of is covered in fence. So the left over boundary is 2x + 40 - 30, that is, (2x + 4) - 30 is the boundary without fence 2x represents the total length of two opposite sides of the rectangle other than the 20 feet side

OpenStudy (meilendurcer):

@Rookies2121 thanks for attempting though ^_^

OpenStudy (meilendurcer):

@navk is that all A, B and C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it is, though I have not answered it in that order: the three paras are answers to parts B, A and C in order

OpenStudy (meilendurcer):

right right just saw thanks!
