is the equation y=200(1.1)^x represent exponential growth or decay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the variable is negative it is decay. If it is positive it is growth. is your x value positive or negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@VeritasVosLiberabit it is positive, the x is the exponent

OpenStudy (loser66):

If the base is >1, then it is growth If the base is <1, then it is decay 1.1 > or <1??

OpenStudy (loser66):

We can't work on variable because it is "variable", it changes any time and what if it changes from negative to positive? how to determine? right?, Just the base, period
