I Need Algebra Help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By observing the triangle and seeing as it has slide up and to the right then both of the x and y must be positive numbers added but since the triangle is upside down we also have a reflection on the y axis which by the rule \[Reflection_{y-axis} (x,y) = (-x,y)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first do the reflection and then add the translation which by translation \[Translation (x,y) = (x+a , y+b)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can already see that by the reflection alone you rule out only the answers that have -x and knowing that the triangle makes a positive translation you can see which choice is best

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whoops you should be looking for a -y not a -x since it is reflected on the x-axis not the y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and still positive translation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think the answer should be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well right now im thinking it could be either B or D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I apologize i mean A or C @Johnbc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It will be either A or C, and you know that the translation is positive so which of those should it be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C it is :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my Gosh thank u may u help me with somemore @Johnbc
