which of the following statements says that a number is between -5 and 5? |x|>5 |x|<5 |x|=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A Rule to Use: Plug in a number between -5 and 5 into each equation and determine which resulting equation is true.

OpenStudy (arbershabani97):

the answer is the first one because x<5 and -x<5 so x<5 and x>-5 (because when the minus is multiplied in the other side the sign changes) and -5<x<5
