HELP PLEASE, I WILL GIVE A MEDAL!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part 1: Solve the inequality −5x + 8 less than or equal to 5x − 2 and show all of your work. You can use <= to represent the less than or equal to symbol. Part 2: Use complete sentences to describe the graph of the solution from Part 1. Be sure to include the type of circle and which direction the shading will be.

OpenStudy (shamim):

-5x+8<=5x-2 or,-5x-5x<=-2-8 or,-10x<=-10 or,10x>=10 or,x>=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @shamim can you help me with part 2 please?

OpenStudy (shamim):

u r most welcome

OpenStudy (shamim):

r u able to draw a graph for x=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm i think i can @shamim do you want me to?

OpenStudy (shamim):

it will b a straight line parallel to y axis. is not it

OpenStudy (shamim):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like this? @shamim

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also i need to describe what circle and shade it would be @shamim

OpenStudy (shamim):

if u put o(0,0) within ur equation u will get x>=1 0>=1 is false

OpenStudy (shamim):

because 0 is not greater than 1

OpenStudy (shamim):

actually 0 is less than 1

OpenStudy (shamim):

so shaded area will b the oposite side of line where the origin o(0,0) situated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shamim thank you!! i got my answers i needed :)

OpenStudy (shamim):

u r most welcome
