What is the measure the arc JKL?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to get the minor arc but not the major.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many degrees in a circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so do you agree that the inside angle is part of the circle and the outside is the other part of the circle? so if the inside is 70 degrees what must the outside be to equal 360?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X+70=360 x=360-70 x=290

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I'm looking for the arc, not angle

hartnn (hartnn):

you know how to get minor arc ? whats the measure of minor arc JL here ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

140

hartnn (hartnn):

thats correct! :) now total measure of all arcs in a circle = 360

hartnn (hartnn):

so here, we have 2 arc only JL+ JKL = 360 find arc JKL from here :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh okay that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then it would be 220?

hartnn (hartnn):

absolutely correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
