Cost is probably one of them. with wireless there isn't much of a need to run cables. and the fact you can move freely around with a lab-top using wireless

For wireless networks you offset wire costs with AP costs.  You can by a few thousand feet of Ethernet cable for the price of one good AP.

yes but lets not forget you can run 150 meters between devices but your still right.  but here is another possible answer being able to connect mobile devices  faster.

Certainly, there are lots of options.  Roaming is another good one.  You hint at that in your first reply.
