Eat cookies, they are healthy

Parth (parthkohli):

A prudential reason for hiring disabled workers is that the moral image of your company is increased among other companies. A disadvantage on the other hand, however, is that you might not get the work done within the company, since disabled people work at their own pace.

OpenStudy (hba):

c is for cookie and cookie is for me.

Parth (parthkohli):

lol

OpenStudy (hba):

@ParthKohli Well we are talking about skilled workers. :p

Parth (parthkohli):

A big disadvantage in itself is their disability. Even though they might be skilled knowledge workers, there is a disadvantage when you are disabled.

Parth (parthkohli):

For example, you may need to allow extra people in a company just to take care of disabled people.

OpenStudy (hba):

@ParthKohli Not necessarily i believe. Most of them are hard workers and loyal people.

Parth (parthkohli):

Erm, what all do you think, then? After all, that's exactly what your task is.

OpenStudy (hba):

i have no idea.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

A mute or lame person are usually distanced from society, so most have studied many books and became very knowledgeable, but the equipment required to allow a mute persons voice to be heard and to move a lame person around could be of some cost and a company may not want to deal with that. Also with them being distanced from society, they may lack the social skills to work in a company environment

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

There are many pros and cons to disabled people, but you have to admit, most are cons. But it is your job to find the general pros and cons and lay them out in a term report

OpenStudy (hba):

Well i can't be biased.I'll have to weight both of them equally. Most case studies say that hiring disabled people has made their company much better whereas the statistics say that about 80 % of them are un employed.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Yeah because hiring disabled people helps their public image but that doesnt mean they have to hire a bunch of them, so most will remain unemployed

OpenStudy (hba):

That can't be the only reason lol.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Maybe sometimes it's a family or friend helping out their own?

OpenStudy (hba):

I saw a natgeo documentary tomorrow. Some disabilities are seen as a taboo and people are afraid on how they behave but they are excellent people in a workspace.

OpenStudy (hba):

They are hardworking and honest. Also in software companies, people hire more disabled people as they work longer and benefit the organization more than the others.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

When you say disabled people, what type are you talking about?

OpenStudy (hba):

People having physical as well as mental impairment.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

More specific, like lame? mute? down syndrome? dyslexia? anorexia?

OpenStudy (hba):

It's general you see.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):
