Which sentence is correctly punctuated? A. The books you should purchase are: Treasure Island and Anne of Green Gables. B. The menu today includes: steak, chicken, and salad. C. Terry's favorite pastimes are: swimming, hiking, and chess. D. I suggest you talk with these people: Dr. Thomas, Mrs. Campbell, and Mr. Franz. Pls help

It's actually D, since the rest don't need a colon since the sentence won't be ruined, but the last one needs it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I agree with D.

I think the correct sentence is Option A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bookworm00981 It couldn't be, since it doesn't need a colon. I would make sense to use it without a colon. On the other hand, D needs one, since the sentence is independent without a colon and would, therefore, require one.
