In multiple myeloma, one of the b-cell types begins to multiply uncontrollably. Is this a form of cancer?

Yes. Any cell or cells which have lost control of the cell cycle (i.e., are dividing uncontrollably) are cancerous. And any condition ending in "-oma" are cancers.
