Homeostasis is when the cell membrane adjust the amount of nutrients inside a cell.

OpenStudy (mysangels):

I thought Homeostasis was when your body kept everything under balance.

Welcome to Openstudy. Take some time to read our COC and TAC.. http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (zale101):

You are correct @mysangels Homeostasis does indeed help the body kept in balance, such by internal thermoregulation when living in a hot or cold environments, can effect our body into gaining heat or loosing heat. Everything should balance by the help of homeostasis. In cells, homeostasis occurs when the cell membrane regulates substances inside the cell just too keep it at equilibrium and to function properly. E.g through active and passive transport, as well as through Osmosis

OpenStudy (mysangels):

Oh, ok. I get what you mean. Thanks @Zale101

OpenStudy (zale101):
