Why Is Biodiversity Important

OpenStudy (chris911):

Biodiversity boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, all have an important role to play. For example, A larger number of plant species means a greater variety of crops. Greater species diversity ensures natural sustainability for all life forms. Biodiversity is the variety of all life forms – the different plants, animals, fungi and micro-organisms, the genes they contain and the ecosystems of which they form a part. Biodiversity is essential to sustaining the living networks and systems that provide us all with health, food, wealth, fuel and the vital services our lives depend on.
