In a landscaping question I am asked to set out a method explaining in words and diagrams how I would go about working out my solution.
So far I have :

I begin by finding the length of the unknown side of the triangular garden. (Diagram of the garden and formula I will use). From there I can work out the perimeter of the area that is to be grassed. Two sides are not labeled as to how long they are. One of the sides is the length of the unknown side of the triangular garden, the other can be found by subtracting 4 from 7.2.
To find the area of the circular garden, I substitute 1.5 for r in the formula a = pi r ^2 (Diagram of the circular garden with substituted formula)
Using these formulas I am able to start calculating how much the materials will cost and how much of these materials is needed.

you got 7.2 from where...?
also why you are substituting 1.5 for circular garden.....? is these the dimensions of the area or what...?

In this question you are to provide a quote for landscaping the garden shown in the
diagram below. The owners of the property want two garden beds (one circular, one
triangular). The rest of the unpaved area is to be laid with instant couch grass turf. They
have specified the following requirements:

● Single row of sleepers for the edge as shown in plan
Circular garden:

● Mini nugget bark mulch: $65 per cubic metre and only sold in multiples of 0.5 m3
● Garden soil blend: $75 per cubic metre and only sold in multiples of 0.5 m3
● Delivery costs for mulch and soil:

for $40
10 m3
for $50
(Note: $10 extra for mixed loads)
● CCA sleepers: $21 each. Sold in 2.4m lengths (2.4m × 0.2m × 0.1m) and able to be
taken home in customer’s car.
● Couch grass turf: $4.50 per square metre. Delivery costs included in price if order is
over 50 m2
