OpenStudy (anonymous):

A glass of water undergoes four changes: First it is frozen solid. Next, the ice is crushed into small pieces of ice. Third, the ice melts, and fourth, an electrical current is passed through the water to separate out hydrogen and oxygen. Which of the following represents the correct sequence of changes to the water? physical, physical, chemical, chemical physical, chemical, physical, chemical physical, physical, physical, chemical physical, physical, chemical, physical

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Whether we are freezing water or smashing up ice or letting ice melt, we have not changed the chemical we were working with, water H2O. The only time it was truly changed was when we ran electric current and broke up the H2O molecules into H2 and O2 gases. Does that help you make a choice here?

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

What @AccessDenied is saying is the answer would be C. physical, physical, physical, chemical Good explanation though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. None of the other tests change the composition of water, they only changed what it looked like. the third separated the actual chemical structure of the water, just making it a chemical change
