OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

anyhow, as you can see, you have 2 right-triangles on the triangular face of the pyramid the base is 3, the height of it is 5 so.... what do you think is the area of each right-triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok is the area b*h/2?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

the lateral area will be, all 4 triangular faces areas SUMMED UP, excluding the base the total area will be, all including the base, which is the rectangle at the bottom and the volume of a pyramid will be \(\bf \cfrac{1}{3}\cdot \textit{rectangular base area}\cdot height\)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

@Exr0sis right, the area of a triangle is bh/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh. ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, thanks for the help mate!

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

do you know how to get the height of the pyramid? btw it isn't 5, 5 is just the "slant heihgt"|dw:1401052704218:dw|
