Which is the equation of the line? A. x – 4y = –8 B. 4x – y = –2 C. x + 4y = –8 D. 4x + y = 2 http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1299500_1300000/1299537/1/f752dd803e8271f1e149fc7936e00f12291d2c09/143686.jpg @elementwielder can u help me idk this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well you know what slope-intercept form is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b \[y=\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x+2\]

OpenStudy (linn99123):

So how do i do it :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the options and try to see if they equal \[y=\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x+2\]

OpenStudy (linn99123):

D equals it :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (linn99123):

how tho :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is A but let me walk you through it... x-4y=-8 subtract x from both sides -4y=-8-x then divide by -4 to both sides \[y=\frac{ -x-8 }{ -4 }\] which simplified is \[y=\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x+2\]

OpenStudy (linn99123):

thank you

your welcome
