What are the vectors and plasmids you insert a desired DNA sequence (with primers) called? Where to they originate and how are they extracted? They are used in gene cloning.
you just call them plasmids. They usually originate from bacteria who replicate the plasmids. It's also possible to create plamids in a laboratory. You can extract plasmids from bacteria using a plasmid dna extraction kit.
To make things clear a plasmid is a vector; a vector is an organism or structure which can transport the required DNA to the desired cells which is to be transformed. When this occurs the organism is said to be transgenic, other vectors includes viruses such as bacteriaphages and liposomes. Well i think vectors are generally originated from living organisms based on its ability to with stand with antibodies and the ability to survive out oh host.
