Assume that lines that appear to be tangent are tangent. O is the center of the circle. The diagram is not drawn to scale. If m angle P= 14, what is the value of x?

PQ is tangent to the circle so OQ is perpendicular to PQ. So triangle PQO is a right triangle... I think that's a big enough hint to figure out the question...

When the tangent touches the circle, a right angle is formed. PQO is a 90 degree angle. A triangle has a total angle measure of 180. So 180 - 90 - 14 = angle x which is 76. Does that help?
