Which equation can be used to find the answer? Dania marks off 18.7 m of a playing field for a sports festival. She needs to mark off a total of 29 m to finish the field. How many more meters does Dania have left to mark off? A. f = 29 ÷ 2 f = 14.5 14.5 m B. f – 18.7 = 29 f = 47.7 47.7 m C. f = 18.7 · 2 f = 37.4 37.4 m D. f + 18.7 = 29 f = 10.3 10.3 m

the answer is D.

they did it using a variable, but in my opinion, it's easier to just subtract 18.7 from 29, to get 10.3.

In order to figure this out, you have to think about what is being asked for. If you need a certain amount of something and you already have part of it, to find the rest of what you need requires subtracting the smaller from the larger amount and the difference (f) is what you still need, right? So, f + 18.7 = 29 and f = 10.3
