You have been asked by the police department to find three locations the Acute Perps gang is likely to hit in the coming weeks. Because the gang sticks to a triangular pattern, the locations could be a translation, reflection, or rotation of the original triangle. For this step, identify and label three points on the coordinate plane that are a translation of the original triangle. Next, use the coordinates of your translation along with the distance formula to show that the two triangles are congruent by the SSS postulate. You must show all work with the distance formula and each corresponding pair of sides to receive full credit.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If this gang is so good at math to know about translations and the SSS postulate then they should decide to make an honest living, such as by being math teachers, and leave a life of crime behind.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Ok, seriously, were you given an original triangle, or do you need to come with one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help ?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Oh, I see it now. That is the original triangle. Now you need to translate it, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I have to go now. I'll be back in about 15 minutes. If no helps you, I'll help you when I come back.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Ok, I'm back. Are you still here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now we need to come up with some type of translation. Do you have a translation in mind?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not at all

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Let's make it go up 4 units and to the left 6 units. Is that ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay but i dont know hoe to do that though i dont know anything about graphing
