How many solutions does the system have? x = -4y + 4 2x + 8y = 8

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

in the second equation 1) subtract 8y from both sides 2) divide both sides by 2 you will see that the second equation is a multiple of the other.

OpenStudy (hba):

1 -4 4 2 8 -8 1 -4 4 0 16 0 so y=0 and x=4

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

wow dude !! \(\Large\color{blue}{ \bf x = -4y + 4 }\) \(\Large\color{blue}{ \bf 2x + 8y = 8 }\) \(\Large\color{blue}{ \bf x = -4y + 4 }\) \(\Large\color{blue}{ \bf 2x =- 8y + 8 }\) \(\Large\color{blue}{ \bf x = -4y + 4 }\) \(\Large\color{blue}{ \bf x =- 4y + 4 }\)

yall have totally confused the blonde.. lol]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So do you now know why there can be infinite number of solutions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
