Mathematics 12 Online
OpenStudy (a1234):

What does it mean if the results of a survey are representative of a group? If I survey all the people 12 and under at the gym about their favorite food, how do I know if my results represent the group I want to study?

OpenStudy (a1234):

@Hero

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, if the group you want to study is NOT people 12 and under .... say you wanted to study the effects of 32 year olds watching spongebob at the video arcade; a survey of people 12 and under at the gym might not be representative of your target group.

OpenStudy (a1234):

So in the case I gave above, the results are representative of my group, right?
