HW question help please!! Three groups of rats are given different amounts of a drug, while a fourth group is given a placebo. The study is about possible treatments for memory loss. Is there a control group? A. Yes, the group of rats who received the lowest dose of drugs. B. No, because we don't always need a control group. C. Yes, the group of rats who received the placebo. D. No, because in this specific example there are subjects that receive no treatment. I'm just really unsure, any help would be greatly appreciated!(:
Control is the portion that you are not performing experiments on. It is just there to serve as the blank state that experiments compare to So the answer would be C - remember placebo means a substance that has no therapeutic effect - In Biology world, placebo's are mainly used as the control anyways :)
