The line intersects the y-axis at what value? At \(y=1\). This means the y-intercept is 1. Now we just need the slope of the line. Since the change of \(x\) is \(1\) and the change of \(y\) is \(1\), the change of y over the change of x (the slope) is \(1\) over \(1\). So the slope is \(1\). A line of slope \(m\) and y-intercept \(b\) is \(y=mx + b\). So the formula is \(y=x + 1\).
