I need some help on writing a ten line poem that involves Repetition,Simile, and Allusion.I'm having writers block and I'm no good at writing poems. So it would be greatly appreciated if you could help me.
First, you can start by choosing a topic to do. What are you familiar with or what emotion do you want to uncover?
What type of music or art. Let's pick something veryyyy specific, so like how it feels to paint. Lines like 'the stroke of the paint on my empty canvas, life being created in front of my eyes'. You can always go deeper and show something small with a bigger meaning, like, how you take control of the paint brush like you take control of your life.
First, get your idea straight. Write lines that pop up in your head, without caring about the figurative language. We can start on that later, when the idea is developed.
If you get a few lines done, you can post them and I'll help you integrate some figurative language into it.
When you paint, what is it that you usually draw? What colours do you tend to use?
Are you a girl or boy? And what age?
Alright. And when do you usually paint?
That should make this easier. You've brought emotion into it. Now, sorry for bombarding you with questions, what does the place you usually like to paint look like?
No, I mean, where do you paint? Your room?
Now picture that and describe it to me. The feeling you get when you are in your room. The utensils you use. So something like (and this is a very rough interpretation/example): The clock chimes a quarter past nine, The silence divine, I let the brush hover For there is no need to rush, And I take my sweet time (Like I said, this is extremely simple, but it's just an example to go by)
I think I got it now. That actually really help me think of ideas thanks !!
Alright. If you finish writing it or some of it, just post it up and I'll help you with adding figurative language and polishing it if you want.
