MEDALSSS!!!! 13. A ball is thrown into the air. The height in feet of the ball can be modeled by the equation h = -16t2 + 20t + 6 where t is the time in seconds, the ball is in the air. When will the ball hit the ground? How high will the ball go?

@arabpride

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If h is the height then to determine the number of seconds until it hits the ground you need to make h = 0 an solve quadratically.

OpenStudy (phebe):

ok i got that

OpenStudy (phebe):

so how do i get the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know the quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (phebe):

yess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So make h =0 in the original equation and solve. The result must be positive. See what answer you get and then we will address the height question.

OpenStudy (phebe):

ok

OpenStudy (phebe):

16^2 is wat??

OpenStudy (phebe):

nvm
